Braintree Quilters

We all enjoyed our third meeting together yesterday!  Work in progress was the order of the day and everyone was kept very busy.  Its lovely to be able to work on large tables with space to spread our work out.

Two Bow Tie blocks

Diane is making large blocks for her sampler quilt.  She has sewn two Bow Tie quilt blocks, which were beautifully pieced together.

Mandy’s table runner before binding

Mandy started to bind her table runner using the dark maroon material matching her small triangles. It was super to see that  she had incorporated her three kaleidoscope patches she made at our last meeting.

Whilst Janet continued to hand quilt her beautiful baby quilt.

We are a new club and still have a couple of spaces if you would like to join us for a days quilting on a Wednesday, beginners or experienced quilters are welcome.  For more details look at our Braintree Quilters page.

New baby sewing ideas

Wow! 2013, where have all the years since the Millennium disappeared to?

This month I am concentrating on making gifts for my daughter and son in law as they are expecting a  baby in March.  I am working on a baby quilt this week.

Tomorrow I am helping to start a new quilting group in my home town of Braintree, Essex. The hardest part was finding a suitable hall that had a free day twice a month.  We filled the places in three days, I’m delighted so many quilters are keen to join us. We are going to work together to fill the timetable for our first year, and have already pencilled in Christmas projects for our July sessions.  We are buzzing with ideas and just raring to go.

Have fun and enjoy your sewing this week.  Life is what you make it, so go and spread the joy.
