Its been a long time since I last blogged. I’ve been sew….. busy making pressies for folk and testing a handbag pattern!
I can now show you my latest creations…
The cushions are very bright as Kate asked for these colours. I used my Sizzix applecore die to cut this one out.
This cushion is made out of strips and I added some lovely heart shaped buttons on the front. And… as Kate was travelling I made her some square mug rugs to take with her to remind her of home. Again I cut them out with my Sizzix using the half square triangle dies.
I was lucky to be able to test a pattern for the Lombard Street Bag for Chris of chriswdesigns.com.
This was great fun and I can recommend her patterns. Here are some pictures of my bag which featured on her website. The bag has multiple pockets on the outside, and a great iPad pouch on the back, just right for travelling with.
It has a zip closure to keep all my bits secure.
Well that’s all for today, I’ll continue with my quilting and hope to finish my latest quilt quite soon.
I have had a wonderful few weeks sewing lots of quilts and things for Farris. I can now show them on my blog, the colour of them would have given away his sex before he was born!
I made him a cot quilt using traditional Peter Rabbit fabrics. It was great fun designing my own pattern and using fabrics that Sarah helped to choose. My label gives the date, March 2013. You will see I am called Granny Linda. The wadding is woollen, so it is lightweight and warm.
I also made another quilt that is wadded with cotton. I fell in love with the fabric, especially the ducks on the back. This is also cot sized, with my label on the back.
My third quilt is for his buggy. It is the size of a stroller blanket and backed with soft fleece. The quilted pattern is called ‘Around the World’. The quilt has a little bag to carry it in, made to my own design and in matching fabrics. The bag can be closed with velcro.
Then when I had finished the quilts I decided to have some more fun making two pacifier/dummy holders and a toy holder for the buggy. I used the Peter Rabbit fabrics that I had left over.
I hope all these things are useful, I’ve really enjoyed making them.
