Although I haven’t blogged for a while I have been busy sewing. I finally finished my wallhanging of the monthly crazy quilting journal project. It took me a while as I kept getting sidetracked on other bits and pieces. It will be a super reminder of my first year of retirement.
During the summer months I busily prepared some gifts to mark the arrival of my new grandchild. My daughter decided that they would wait to see what sex the baby was until the birth. This meant I prepared 2 sets of things, one in pink and the other in blue. Joseph was born in late October and here are the pictures of his cuddly. I used some minky with dimples on the back which is cuddly and soft.
I made another set of toy holders with rings on the top, as Farris is expert at opening velcro and could throw his toys out of the double buggy!
When I’m sewing I like a bit of variety, so have also been working on 12″ blocks for my maroon and cream king size quilt and a Christmassy hidden star design for a lap quilt. Neither will be finished this year as with the arrival of Joseph I’m working hard to make him a cot quilt and Farris can’t be left out, so he will have a cot bed quilt covered in his favourite diggers with a cosy fleece backing. Hopefully these will both be finished before Christmas. All this will keep me amused over the next few weeks.
Well I hope you have a fun weekend and keep sewing!
